WHAT IS  A THEMATIC HIGH SCHOOL ?

A thematic high school is a comprehensive high school that  includes an instructional program in one specific career field. Parents and students choose a particular high school based on the program offered.

 

WHAT IS THE COLLINWOOD THEMATIC PROGRAM?   

Collinwood offers a program in which Cleveland Municipal School students interested in a career in the  TEACHING PROFESSIONS participate in courses and activities to enhance their opportunities for entering the field.

 

HOW WILL A STUDENT BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM? 

After successfully completing the Thematics Program at Collinwood, the graduating student will have:

  1. A TEACHING INTERNSHIP experience in a local elementary school.

  2. ADMISSION STATUS with cooperating institutions of higher learning.

  3. FIRST CONSIDERATION for a position of employment with the Cleveland Municipal Schools following certification in teaching by the state of Ohio.
